Puppy Price & The CZCAN Vlcak Incentive Program

Each litter is raised with passion, purpose, and attention to every detail:
-
Extensive health testing on all breeding dogs (hips, elbows, patellas, thyroid, eyes, heart, and full genetic panels)
-
Carefully selected, temperament-matched pairings to produce stable, sound, confident pups — our goal is to breed the "unicorns" of this breed
-
Home-raised puppies, not kennel-based — raised underfoot, handled daily, and exposed to life from day one

Structured confidence-building and exposure to novel environments, people, and animals
-
Thoughtful placement screening to ensure our puppies go to homes that match their needs
We don’t just raise puppies. We raise partners, companions, and future ambassadors of this remarkable breed. And we’re with you, every step of the journey.
Health Testing of our Breeding Dogs

Timeline: What to Expect at Each Age
Raising a CSV isn’t a straight path — it’s a winding trail of growth, challenges, and breakthroughs. Here's a rough guide to what you can expect as your pup grows.
8–12 Weeks:
The chaos begins.
This stage is all about bonding, learning trust, and figuring out life away from their mom and littermates. Expect biting, crying, and neediness — like a toddler on four paws.
🔹 Note: Puppies from CZCAN Vlcaks stay with us until 10–12 weeks of age to ensure healthy development, unless traveling to the USA, in which case they stay until 6+ months.
3–6 Months:
Teething, energy bursts, and big feelings.
This is the start of structure-building: leash lessons, crate time, early obedience, and impulse control. You'll also see sensitivity to loud noises or new people/places — socialization is key now. Expect reactivity to increase if not managed. (We call this stage the "Puppy Blues")
🦷 Teething kicks into full gear, so redirect biting every single time.
⚡ Energy spikes can make them seem "wild" — it’s normal.
6–12 Months:
Boundary testing & fear periods.
This is when your CSV will test the rules and push your patience. You'll likely hit another teething wave around 9–10 months (molars!), and their independence kicks in.
🐾 Real bonding begins — this is when they start choosing their person.
🚨 Expect new fears to pop up suddenly. Stay calm and guide them through.
12–18 Months:
Adolescence: brace yourself.
This is one of the most challenging (and critical) stages. Emotional reactivity often peaks — expect barking, lunging, pushback on commands, and an increase in “red zone” behaviors. They’re testing boundaries, independence is growing, and hormones are in full swing.
They need daily structure, consistent training, plenty of enrichment, and strong, calm leadership to guide them through.
🔧 This is also the ideal time to spay or neuter your CSV — it supports healthy physical growth, mental focus, and can reduce behavioral challenges. If your dog is already displaying major behavior issues, talk to your vet and consider fixing earlier.
🎯 Daily effort matters more than ever — the work you put in now sets the tone for the rest of your dog’s life.
18+ Months:
The (possible) beginning of maturity.
Mental and emotional growth starts showing. Many females begin to settle around this time, while males often take longer to mature fully. Continue all your work — socialization, new exposures, training refreshers — to keep their minds healthy.
🧠 Their drive and instincts won’t go away, but they become more manageable with consistent effort.
🏡 They may begin to settle into their role in your home and “pack.”
Final Note:
Every dog is different. Some CSVs stabilize earlier, others later. What matters is ongoing support, structure, and learning how your dog ticks.
And remember — if you hit a stage where you feel overwhelmed or unsure, you’re not alone. We’ve been there. The CSV community is here to help.
